Welcome to the Real Food Store Take-Away counter!

The Real Food Store Take-Away Counter is a beautifully presented and convenient spot to grab a coffee, tea or cold drink to go. Add to this a freshly made sandwich from a selection of veggie or meat based fillings, or a salad pot & a delicious cake!

The Take-Away counter is open throughout Store opening times:

Monday – Saturday: 09.00 – 18.00

The Take-Away is located on the left hand side of the Store and has a ramp making it fully wheelchair accessible & convenient for those with prams. There is a disabled access toilet on the ground floor just beyond the Take-Away counter.

Our aim is to serve tasty & wholesome convenience food- that doesn't compromise. You will get the same quality and seasonal variation that you would expect in the cafe. Of course all the Take-Away counter food is made from ingredients sourced from the store or products supplied to the store (pies and pasties for example) & the bread and cakes are supplied by Emma's Bread, our in-store artisan bakery. You can also order from the cafe menu & eat in. There is a pleasant area to sit down and watch the world go by.

DRINKS

  • Hot drinks: A range of coffees, teas (including herbal) & hot chocolate- Our coffees feature Origin coffee & are delicious! Choose from Americano, cappuccino, latte, espresso, macchiato.
  • Cold drinks : Choose from a great range of delicious juices & sparkling drinks from Luscombe Organic Drinks (including Elderflower bubbly, Ginger Beer, Sicilian Lemonade), Sandford Orchards (including Orange, Apple, Apple and blackberry) & cans from Whole Earth Organic (including Cola, Lemonade, Raspberry & Elderflower). We also stock Pure Blue Cornish spring water.

FOOD

We aim to cater for all tastes and requirements including vegan / gluten free. We have a range you can depend upon at lunchtime but we'll keep you on your toes with surprises- daily specials or tasters like potato pizza by the slice or mini olive and rosemary foccacia fresh from the bakery oven.

In the chiller opposite the Take-Away counter & till point you will find:

  • Sandwiches - Daily selection of freshly made sandwiches, made with Emma's Bread & with a variety of veggie or meat based fillings.
  • Salad pots -Seasonal salad pots with e.g. humous or roast veg dip
  • Pies & Pasties - Choose from a range of Chunks of Devon & Clive's pasties and pies with delicious pastry and a variety of fillings- meat, vegetarian and vegan / gluten free (Clive's). Please ask our staff if you would like to have a hot pasty or pie as there is usually a selection at the counter.

At the counter you can find:

  • Soup of the day
  • Hot pie or pasty from the Chunks or Clive's Pies range
  • Fresh fruit- just help yourself from the basket

And browse the glass display for:

  • Savoury flapjack - One of our most popular take-out choices made with carrot, onion, cheese & sesame
  • Homemade cakes and biscuits
  • Carrot cake, Lemon Polenta cake & Chocolate Brownie are popular regulars. Also oat crunch, stem ginger & lemon biscuits.

Check out our snacks:

  • Burts crisps, in a variety of fantastic flavours, they are easy to spot in their funky packets
  • Mr Filberts nuts and seeds
  • We also have a variety of bars and other snacks

Why not try a different kind of pudding? Have you tried our:

  • Ice-cream - A range of ice-cream & dairy/gluten free ices in individual size pots are displayed in the freezer cabinet just a few steps along from the T/A counter (in spring / summer)
  • Yogurt, Challon Combe fruit yogurts in small pots are available in the dairy chiller on the grocery side of the store

Please note that the drinks and sandwiches are priced according to whether you are eating in or taking your food out. There is a slight price increase for eating in.

CAFÉ MENU

The full café menu is available from the Take-Away Counter. This is especially convenient for those who cannot access the upstairs café. Our staff will be pleased to serve you here & you can sit in pleasant surroundings with a street view.

  • Toast, from a selection of Emma's bread
  • Open toasties (try it with wilted spinach and tasty cheddar topped with 2 poached eggs- delicious!)

Snacks- served all day includes:

  • Real Food sandwiches, salads and seasonal soups
  • Emma's toasted teacake
  • Emma's Devonshire split served with Shute fruit strawberry jam and Devon clotted cream

Light lunches- served from 12 pm include:

  • Real Food sandwiches, salads and seasonal soups
  • Daily specials, written up on blackboard daily

Beverages- served all day including:

  • Coffees, from black Americano to latte & macchiato: Made with 'Farmer 30' coffee, a superb top quality 100% Arabica bean coffee supplied by Origin Coffee, coffee buyers and roasters in Helston, Cornwall
  • Delicious juices & sparkling drinks from Luscombe Organic Drinks, Sandford Orchards & cans Whole Earth Organic.
